Default Which cutter for soft and hard wood?

I'm now using cup type hole saw tools. I'm drilling or cutting various size holes up to 12" inches. I will cut several circles in both softwood and hardwood. The work I'm doing is on a drill press and will cut several pieces during the day.

What are the advantages of the single blade vs the double blade in this application. Also what blade would you recomend. Very Light to nosap or pitch and the wood is mostly clear and free of knots.

Thanks, Charles

Default holes in wood

Regular hole saws create a lot more friction to cut wood. The high speed steel blades provide much less contact area and will provide a cleaner cut that often requires no sanding.

For hard and soft woods and MDF we recommend the high speed steel blades. They have a finer edge than the tungsten carbide blades.
