We at Hole Pro often get asked if our Power X-Series and CL models require an electrically powered drill.

Hole Pro Hole Cutters all work with a standard 3/8" drill and can use a cordless drill. Both the Power X and CL models come with the patented ABS shield allowing it to act as a drill press keeping the drill perpendicular to the work surface.

Manufacturers rate their 1/2” 8-amp power hand drills, even those with triple gear reduction, for a maximum hole saw size of 4” when cutting wood - as compared to 12” when using the same drill with a Hole Pro hole cutter.

The X-425 model can cut a maximum hole size up to 17". Depending on the type of material that is being cut, sheetrock or plywood, and the thickness of that material, a cordless drill may also be able to be used on holes greater than 12".
